Contracts for works
Zitac spa is an Urban Transformation Company and, therefore, it deals with and selects contractors according to guidelines, principles and criteria peculiar to public bodies, which Zitac comply with. The aim is to assure that the enterprises executing the contracted works own thequalifications necessary to guarantee that the works will be carried out correctly according to procedures marked by timeliness, transparency, fairness and free competition between enterprises. The enterprises carrying out the works must be qualified and their activities must be marked by the principles of quality and professionalism.
As far as tenders are concerned, Zitac refers to the Act 109/1994 (Merloni) and its subsequent amendments and supplements; to the Regional Act 27/2003 and its subsequent amendments and supplements; and to the Legislative Decree 163/2006 (code of public contracts of works, services, supplies).
Zitac commissions the contracts of works by public auction (art. 20 Act 109/94), that is by publishing a call for tenders according to the rules and regulations which are part and parcel of the call for tenders itself.
In order to check the qualifications of the applying enterprises Zitac applies the procedures provided by the Presidential Decree 34/2000; the required qualifications correlate with the importance of the works to be carried out.
The urbanization works which were started at the end of March 2006 have been tested on September 2008.
